This recording is a continuation of a formal interview with Zhenia Borisovna Burmenko. (Part 2 of 2. See MDV 360) Food customs and religious customs during the holidays are discussed. The interview concludes with a discussion about life in Berdychiv today. Then the team returns to the van with Mikhail Aronovich Vainshelboim who gives a tour through Jewish Berdychiv. Then the van stops, and the interviewers accompany Vainshelboim to the memorial marking the site of the massacre of the Jews of Berdychiv, as well as the mass grave. He talks about his mother and sister who were buried in the mass grave. Then they walk to the location where his father was shot and he escaped. Then they discuss memorialization of World War II during Soviet times. The tape concludes with the team entering the courtyard of the synagogue in Berdychiv.
